MAAG Members are now exposed to 4000 active clients monthly, through its Oystercatchers partnership.
The Oystercatchers is the leading senior client and agency community. It is featured on Marketing Week that reaches 4,000 active client marketers per day,400,000 unique visitors per month and 1.2m page views per month.
As part of the partnership MAAG Member Agencies can showcase their latest work, case studies thought leadership, interviews and be a part of industry discussion on the Oystercatchers Club platform.
Sustainability GreenJam broke records.
MAAG’s August GreenJam saw its highest event attendance to date, with over 60 marketing professionals from 27 agencies descending on The Collective to hear our panel discussion, “Are brands and agencies taking the planet seriously?”
With a focus on sustainability, the event was hosted by Chris Gorell Barnes from Adjust Your Set. The GreenJam panel consisted of Ben Poate from The Marketing Store, Barry Clarke OBE from Change Agency, Zoe McGee from Ignis and Ali Aslam from PwC.
MAAG launched "The Festival of Happiness"- the first ever day dedicated to Mental Health and Wellbeing for Independent Marketing Agencies.
The day was full of energy, inspiration, perspective, reflection, education, magic and fun thanks to our 27 speakers and trainers, our Charity Partners, The Mix, CALM and NABSand our sponsors, Fill Recruitment,Feedrand HaloPromo Risk and all took place at The Collective.
The first Diversity Group was launched in collaboration with Career Ready.
The Group kicked off its first session in September and welcomed Career Ready who will be involved going forward supporting MAAG Member Agencies with MentoringSchemes to make sure agency workforces are both diverse and inclusive.
MAAG made a stand on behalf of the Marketing Industry and sponsored a Mental Health and Wellbeing debate in
The House of Commons.
The debate's motion was "Client behaviour is a contributor to putting at risk the mental health of agency personnel."
We had a fantastic panel consisting of Spencer Gallagher, CEO, Cact.us, Thomas Duncan Bell debating for the motion and Josh Krichefski, CEO MediaCom and Kerry Chilvers, Brand Director, Direct Line Group debating against the motion. The debate was Chaired by MP, Daniel Zeichner.
15 Students successfully completed MAAG's Diploma in Integrated Marketing.
An unforgettable night for 15 talented agency people who were awarded MAAG Diploma's after completing the six-month programme and presenting an integrated campaign in response to a real client brief. A night too when one of the industry’s great personalities was remembered when the top student was presented with the Mike Spicer Award, sponsored by Halo Promo Risk.
MAAG signed up to the #Timeto Code and encouraged friends of MAAG to also sign up. Working together is the only way to successfully end sexual harassment in the advertising and media industry.
Creative Slammers were grouped at random,given a brief from Marks and Spencer and one hour later presented back as mini groups. They were judged by 3MAAG Creative Directors and Laura Davidson and Charlie Fuller, M&S, all in the relaxed spirit of GreenJam. Prizes of Champagne and Colin the Caterpillars were kindly donated by M&S to our Creative Slam winners!

MAAG believe in happyworkplaces and with the MAAGFutureLeaders support we have created the HappinessProgramme. The Happiness programme consists of MentalHealthFirstAid, Festival of Happiness amongst other training and events that provides support to our Agencies.
Our Speed Mentoring GreenJam offered not just our Future Leaders support, but also the opportunity for CEO's to be Reverse Mentored.
By popular demand we brought back our SpeedMentoring event. The event brought together an incredible and diverse range of 15 high profile mentors from CEO's, a life coach, a sustainability expert, senior account handlers, clients and many more. This gave our futureleaders a chance to ask for advice and guidance across a number of subjects, as well as repaying the favour by giving CEO's the opportunity to be reverse mentored.
It was our pleasure to announce a unique and exclusive partnership between MAAG and the Marketing Agencies Association Worldwide global awards programme, The GLOBES. Now in its 33rd year The GLOBES recognise the “Best of the Best” in Marketing Communications campaigns from across the world. WARC state ““The MAA Worldwide GLOBES are now positioned alongside prestigious global effectiveness awards, such as the Cannes Lions, the Dragons of Asia and the Effies”. Over 150 judges including academics, agency heads, brand owners and global opinion formers.
A Code of Conduct for
Recruitment Agencies was created.
MAAG created a Code of Conduct to ensure best practice between Agencies, Recruitment Consultants and Candidates. The Code addresses behaviours, payment terms and processes. We are aiming to get as many Recruitment Agencies and Agencies to sign up to this.
MAAG and LinkedIn ran a joint event on "How to Rock your Profile".
This special GreenJam event taught the audience how to create a stellar LinkedIn profile. Delegates were taught how to grow professional skills, how to build an online brand and how to stand out from the crowd.
Member Agencies, Think Jam, Sense & Cirkle took part in a Sprintathon for Stand up to Cancer on the Hottest Day ever recorded in the UK!
